Position Opening for Family Advocate

Position: Family Advocate
Brethren Housing Association is seeking a part-time Family Advocate for the Side By Side Program.  The Family Advocate provides direct services to BHA participants in the Side By Side program and is a part-time hourly role reporting to the Program Director.

Qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a case manager role working for a social service agency, preferably with individuals and/or families experiencing homelessness
  • Knowledge and training in Trauma Informed Approach
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources

The focus of this position is providing direct services to BHA’s families consistent with BHA’s mission. The Family Advocate will work closely with the Program Team to help each household in BHA’s Side By Side program, which is a permanent housing program for individuals with a disability. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, a team player, and empathetic to the needs of those who are experiencing homelessness. Hourly rate is $15-$18 an hour based on experience.
