BHA Job Description-Family Advocate-2017-04

Brethren Housing Association is seeking a full-time Family Advocate. The Family Advocate provides direct services to BHA families and is a full-time, salaried role reporting to the Program Director.

Qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
    § 1-3 years of experience in a case manager role working for a social service agency, preferably with individuals experiencing homeless
    § Knowledge and training in providing Trauma Informed Care
    § Extensive knowledge of community resources

The focus of this position is on providing direct services to BHA’s families consistent with BHA’s mission. The Family Advocate will work closely with the Program Team to help each family in BHA’s housing programs set and achieve a number of significant goals to support the family in their journey toward stability. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, a team player and empathetic to the needs of low-income single mothers who are experiencing homelessness.

Schedule & Hours
Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Monday – Friday, Hours TBD
