People: BHA Staff
Administrative Staff |
Steve Schwartz (sschwartz@bha-pa.org), Executive Director, provides administrative and supervisory oversight of all of BHA’s programs, including the transitional housing program, rapid rehousing programs, property management, collaborative partnerships, and community outreach. Steve has a B.A. in Organizational Management from Eastern University and 15 years of supervisory experience in faith-based non-profit settings. Steve and his wife Elizabeth and sons John-Luis and Carlos live in Harrisburg, a short distance from BHA, and are active members of Harrisburg Brethren In Christ Church.

Jenn Todaro (jtodaro@bha-pa.org) serves as our Administrative Assistant, and in doing so helps all of us do our jobs better, while making sure the bills are paid, donations are acknowleged, records are well kept and the general public is welcomed. Jenn and her newly wed husband Michael live just outside of the city, in Lower Paxton Township.

Development/Public Relations Staff |
Christopher Fitz (cfitz@bha-pa.org), Director of Development, is responsible for fundraising and public relations, including donor relations, grant writing, special events and planned giving. Chris holds an M.A. from Universitat Jaume I in Spain and a B.A. from Hampshire College. He brings a wealth of experience in non-profit development work and Christian ministry, including Crispus Attucks Association in York, Camp Eder in Fairfield, and Channels Food Rescue in Harrisburg. Chris lives with his wife Tabea, and two young children Noah and Joana, in Marietta and attends the Lancaster Friends Meeting. In his free time, you'll find him instigating sing-alongs, dances or theatre. We're excited to have Chris on the BHA team, especially as we pursue plans for significant expansion through our 20/20 Vision.

Program Staff |
Crystal Baxter (cbaxter@bha-pa.org), Program Director, is in a new position created in 2011 through our 20/20 Vision. Crystal provides program oversight, supervises all program staff, monitors program outcomes and benchmarks, and works directly with participant families in achieving their goal plans. She has a B.A. from West Chester University and a M.A. in Social Work from Temple University with a concentration in management and planning. She resides in the city of Harrisburg and attends Faith Chapel Church of God in Christ, also in the city, where her father is the pastor.

Marilyn Bellesfield (mbellesfield@bha-pa.org), Case Manager, assists the families in our programs to develop and achieve life changing goals surrounding employment, education, parenting, relationships, health, and housing--all geared toward strengthening the families stability and self-sufficiency. Marilyn has a B.A. in Family Studies from Messiah College and 22 years of experience serving homeless families in the local human service community. Marilyn, her husband Mark, and their three children live in Etters, PA and attend Wyndamere Heights Evangelical Congregational Church.

Property Staff |
Dennis Saylor (dsaylor@bha-pa.org) is our Property Manager, overseeing the general maintenance of BHA’s current properties in use, as well as renovation of new properties being developed. His entire career has been spent in the construction and carpentry trades. Dennis, his wife Ann, and their children reside in Manheim, Pennsylvania and attend West Greentree Church of the Brethren.
