January 2007 Archive of News and MusingsFriday, January 19, 2007 Time to Start Training... Planning is underway for the 2007 Spring Thaw Bike Tour, to be held April 21, 2007. The tour features 50 mile, Metric Century and 100 mile routes starting and ending in Palmyra, Pa. The goal is to raise $10,000 for BHA's work of helping homeless single moms get back on their feet. You can make a difference in these moms lives by riding individually or as a team, or by encouraging riders you know to take part and then supporting their efforts. We have a variety of prizes available for those reaching fundraising challenge goals.
And new this year, sponsor raising is really easy...you can do it all by e-mail and point people to our online donation page. For more details or to register, download the registration brochure (PDF 137k)...or contact Darrel Reinford, Event Coordinator, to have one mailed to you: (717) 213-9316 or kirstendarrel@pa.net. Register early to get a discount on your registration fee, and so we can provide you with materials to make your fundraising easy! Posted by Steve Schwartz (1/19/2007 11:33:36 AM | link)
Tuesday, January 16, 2007 Thanks M&T! Gail D'Angelo, the Regional CRA Officer of M&T Bank, just stopped by...to drop off a check! The M&T Bank Charitable Foundation is providing $2,500 in funding for our transitional housing program for 2007. We're so grateful for M&T Bank's support, and also for their presence in our neighborhood.
They are a primary community partner and private funder behind Allison Hill's Weed and Seed revitalization efforts. I have the privilege of serving alongside Gail on Weed and Seed's Housing and Neighborhood Development subcommittee. Thanks Gail and M&T Bank for all you are doing to invest in Allison Hill. And specifically, thank you for investing in the lives of homeless single moms working hard to get back on their feet through our program at BHA!
