Day 12 of 28 Days of BHA

In 2006, a group of dedicated supporters built a house as a fundraiser for BHA. Subcontractors donated and discounted their services to build the house. The project was headed up by Roger Shenk, a board member of BHA at the time. Of his involvement Roger says, “I’ve had years where I’ve done a lot of volunteer service work, and years where I’ve been pretty busy running my business…but what I really remember are the times I did something like this to help others.” They built a 2,400 square foot house in Lebanon County and netted $85,700 in proceeds to use toward our work in Harrisburg. This was a tremendous project and a special thanks to everyone who made it possible.  Join us to continue meeting the needs of our community and take the 28th Year Challenge. Make a recurring monthly gift of $28 to help provide a family with a home and hope.
